Academy Update

Following the Australian Open the Tennis World Academy program for 2014 commenced in February with some exciting new changes.
Tennis World is pleased to introduce Corey Phillips, Enrique Moya, Valerio Sarno and Aymeric Mara as new coaches to the Academy program. The guys all bring enormous knowledge and experience to the program and will really assist the program moving forward.
Additional day time sessions have been included in the overall program along with early morning sessions. The early morning sessions 6.30-8.00am prior to school are proving to be popular as an option for players with busy schedules– players interested in these sessions for Term 2 should contact Brent Alford on [email protected]
Tennis World would like to welcome Sun Qian from China who will train with the Academy program throughout 2014. Qian, who is studying English whilst here in Australia, is one of the top ranked 12 and Under Chinese players and is showing great promise for the future.

A special off court session will be held for Academy players in the last week of term as detailed below:

Academy Player of the Month
Congratulations to Ana Milosh who has been selected as player of the month. Ana has been a regular member of the Tennis World Academy throughout her development and recently won the U14 – Tennis World Junior Classic March 2014 and the U13 – Royal Park Junior Classic 2014 U12. Ana is showing a strong commitment to her tennis and it is great to see her having this success.

Psychological Training
NEW to Tennis World this year is the inclusion of Tennis Psychology sessions. Tennis World coach Enrique Moya is a qualified Psychologist and is available for individual tennis specific Psychology sessions that are tailored to suit your needs. These sessions will run for an hour and cost the same as a private lesson. Enrique will be able to assist you in the following areas;

• Positive body language
• Balance
• Becoming mentally tough
• Focusing and blocking out distractions
• Dealing with nerves
• Visualization
• Building confidence
• Goal setting

2014 Overseas Tour
Following on from the successful 2013 Tennis World tour to China expressions of interest are now being sought for the 2014 Tennis World tennis tour to Europe. The tour during the 2 weeks of the September school holidays involves comprehensive daily claycourt training including Challenge matches in Austria and Spain and training at Sanchez-Casal Academy in Barcelona. The 2 week package is inclusive of airfares/insurance/accommodation/meals – players interested should contact Tour Manager John McCurdy at [email protected]
