Tennis World Coaches compete in ITF Futures Event
Tennis World coaches Daniel Byrnes, Jarryd Maher and Daniel Feretti all competed in the ITF Futures event that was played on the Melbourne Park Clay Courts during the week.
Daniel Byrnes and Daniel Feretti played through 3 qualifying matches to both make the main draw of the tournament.
Feretti went down in a close one in his first round match, whilst Jarryd Maher, who was straight in to the main draw, and Daniel Byrnes won their first round matches. Maher defeated qualifier Christian Vitulli from Kenya, in a close 3 set match but then lost in the second round to Alex Bolt, who eventually went on to win the tournament. Byrnes comfortably defeated the 6th seed Gavin Van Pepperzeel from Queensland and cruised through his second round match against Johnathon Cooper. Byrnes went down in the third round to the National Academies Blake Mott 7-5, 6-2.
