Head Coach Update – Darwin
I would like to introduce the Tennis World Darwin Head Coach and Programs Lead, Brenton Barker.
Born in Australia, Brenton headed overseas 15 years ago and has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in our sport.
Brenton is a former Head Coach for the Japanese Government Sports Science Training Centre, former Member of the Dunlop Tennis International Advisory Board and has a degree in Sports Coaching.
During Brenton’s stint overseas, he coached 9 female players to win titles on the women’s International Tour and his support, ability to listen, passion for the game, strong work ethic and integrity in the sport were key factors in these results.
Sticking to his fundamental coaching and moral boundaries will see Brenton giving players in NT the best opportunity to develop into great tennis players and even better human beings.
Brenton’s wife and daughter will be joining him here in Darwin at Christmas. I’m sure you will all welcome them with open arms!
Brenton’s role will be focussing on all things tennis but a strong focus on Coaching and Programs (comps, tournaments, cardio tennis).
In late September, Brenton will be joined by another full-time staff member who will be the Customer Service, Merchandise and Memberships lead.
Manager, Tennis World NSW, ACT & NT
