Introducing the Melbourne Junior Tennis Pathways Series. Helping young tennis players easily transition into junior tournament play.

The aim of this program is to give developing players a wide variety of match experience and prepare them for national junior ranking tournament.

If your child is wanting to start competing at tournaments, then the Pathways Series is for them. This series is for tennis players between the ages of 9 and 15 and players are grouped based on age and gender. They will play multiple round-robin matches gaining valuable junior match play experience. The final event of each series will be an elimination tournament (with consolation) to mimic how a Junior Tournament (JT) is conducted.

Entry for each event is $30.

How does it work?

Tournaments will be played on a Saturday afternoon and consist of 20 tournaments broken into four series:

  • Australian Series: 4 Round Robin and one Elimination Tournament
  • French Series: 4 Round Robin and one Elimination Tournament
  • Wimbledon Series: 4 Round Robin and one Elimination Tournament
  • US Series: 4 Round Robin and one Elimination Tournament

Each tournament will consist of eight events over four age levels:

  • U/9 singles Boys and Girls Singles (Green Ball)
  • U/11 singles Boys and Girls Singles (Yellow Ball)
  • U/13 singles Boys and Girls Singles (Yellow Ball)
  • U/15 singles Boys and Girls Singles (Yellow Ball)

What makes Junior Pathways Series unique

  • Flexibility. Each tournament sits as its own entity to allow players to enter
  • Cost effective. Only $30 per tournament
  • Tournament Experience under real tournament conditions. Educating parents and players on transitioning into Australian ranking points tournaments such as JT and AMTs
  • Played on a Saturday afternoon, offering an addition or alternative to morning district competitions
  • Points are used to decide seedings for Elimination Final of each series (AO, French Open, Wimbledon, US Open)
  • Three singles matches in each series depending on draw size
  • Round Robin & elimination tournament experience
  • Run by Tennis Australia recognised Tournament Directors
  • Learn to navigate the Tennis Australia tournament site and get My Tennis ID number to enter majority of tournaments around Australia
  • Trophies to be won each tournament, series and yearly winner for each age group.
IMPORTANT and REMEMBER: Tournament entry require a player to have a Tennis Australia ID Number – this ID number can be obtained by calling 1300 PLAY TENNIS.
