What is Activ8?Cardio Fit Logo

Activ8 as part of our Fitbit Cardio Tennis stream has a focus on burning calories and continuous movement. This fast paced class will improve tennis and fitness levels. Activities will cater to all levels with drills and stations set up to keep all players involved. With a maximum of 8 players on court, this class is social  and involves both drills and points play with the aim to hit as many balls as possible and work up a good sweat.

Boot Camp

What is Boot Camp?

Join our 8 week Boot Camp challenge beginning 12th of April! Boot camp as part of our Fitbit Cardio Tennis stream focuses on building both strength and fitness through a variety of running and weights training exercise stations with an intense interval training program on the tennis court. The sessions will be challenging for all involved, with the trainer able to modify exercises/sessions depending onthe fitness levels of individuals within the group. With a tennis focus, classes will be designed to improve on court performance. Results and progress can be monitored if requested.

Ladies Tennis Mornings

Ladies Tennis Mornings (LTM’s) are on offer to female tennis players of all ages and standards throughout the school term. The program provides women with the opportunity to enjoy tennis in a fun and social environment. The 2 hour sessions that run from 9.30am – 11.30am include 90 minutes of Coaching and 30 minutes of Match-play which is then followed by a complimentary coffee and cake.

About the program: Each session begins with a different coaching theme for example; ‘lobs and smashes’ or ‘serve and return’. The technique that was learnt during the initial coaching is then simulated in doubles drills and different doubles scenarios. The session then progresses to full match play where participants can try out their new skills.

From the coaches: ‘We try to make the sessions fun, with the idea that after each session everyone comes away having learnt something new. Whether the focus be on technique or tactics, we want to create a comfortable learning environment for all participants’.
The LTM’s are open to all  ladies of all standards, members and non members who are interested. Tennis World encourages you to bring a friend and join the fun!

Spin Class

spin-class28 Week Challenge

The 8 Week Challenge will run at Melbourne Park in the National Tennis Centre gymnasium and is available for members and non-members! Tennis World’s Fitness Instructor Beth will take the Thursday morning classes and help motivate you to get the most out of the session. There will be 4 x 8 week blocks run throughout the year.

Each Spin Class will run for 45 minutes and is a great way to lose weight quickly whilst toning and strengthening your body. The session will comprise of a number of intervals of fast and slow paced pedaling along with increasing and decreasing the foot pedal resistance. Participating in Spin Classes requires neither rhythm nor complex moves and is low-impact (great for people with joint problems).
