Coaching tip of the month
A feature of tennis as a sport is the head to head individual mentality it has to offer. Unlike other sports, there is no coach involvement during competition and often players compete without coach assessment post match. Therefore self-analysis is a necessary skill that any young tennis player can possess and it’s important to take responsibility for this area including post-match analysis. Be honest from both a tactical and psychological perspective as to why you won or lost and what you need to improve as part of your ongoing development. Unless you have the luxury of a coach watching your matches, honest ongoing self-analysis is an essential part of your overall program.
