Tennis World helping young Serena follow in the footsteps of her namesake

10 July 2024

Young Serena Pauloulian is making a name for herself in the Sydney tennis scene. She aims to follow in the footsteps of her namesake, Serena Williams.

Named after the American legend, tennis has been a part of Serena’s life before she was even born. She looks back fondly on her earliest memories hitting with her dad on a backyard mini-court.

I always remember waiting for my dad every day when I was just 3 years old, eager for him to come home from work so we could practice in our backyard with a mini net.

Now training six days a week, Serena is a regular at the Tennis World Sydney Olympic Park squad sessions, in addition to Super 10s and early morning hits with her father.

Her hard work and regimented practice routine paid off last weekend with a big win at the J125 Paramatta City Championships (pictured below)

Balancing school, life, and training is a difficult task but Serena says she is lucky to have such a supportive team.

“I feel very lucky to have the best team around me, supporting and guiding me. I am also very happy to be a part of the Tennis World family

Tennis World is proud to have such a dedicated and passionate player in our program and we look forward to helping continue Serena’s tennis success.
